The garden design for the first year of Bloom (2007) was based on a wildlife theme. It aimed to show how even in a small space, certain elements can be added to attract beneficial insects and birds. When completed it would become a haven both for the people and wildlife who visit it.

The garden for Bloom 2008 has a completely different feel and theme to it in order to try something different. The style is more modern and angular while still being a restful space to spend time in. The concept evolved from a desire to include still water rills in the garden, and the subsequent shapes, textures and planting resulted from this. The garden explores the different but complementary textures and surfaces that can be included in a small area.
