A Garden with Curves
This garden was a blank canvas, but with a very strong client brief. A lower patio or seating area was required and flowing or curved shapes were preferred.
The concept that was implemented, used a curving planted bed, edged with box hedging, which unfurls around a circular seating area. This bed acts to draw the eye down from the house to the lower part of the garden. The central lawn reinforced the curved shape and was edged in setts to create a sharp outline. A gravel pathway led from the house to the paved circle.
The same fencing material that was used in the garden boundary was used to construct a storage area for a compost bin and other items. This ensured that the space integrated seamlessly with the rest of the design. A selection of climbing plants were placed at intervals along the fencing to achieve a softening effect.
